I want to be an astronaut ever sense i was four years old , I'm currently in high school in my senior year and I'm not sure whats the best path to become an astronaut . To go to college first and then join the air force or join the air force and go to there colleges I'm not sure can some one help please.
+cristian ruiz depaz Like Col. Drew said... you can do both at the same time. You'll have to be dedicated though. There was recently a job posting for astronauts by NASA and the last time about 6000 people applied. I'd suggest if you end up doing College first to follow the STEM's path. Something like Biology, Math, Physics, chemistry, even computer science. They also require 3 years of experience within that field. You can look into more detail on their website. They also post other advice on how to better prepare yourself for a likely chance to become an astronaut. Good luck! Maybe we both will work together in space.
Life is like a rocket ship. It will take you by surprise and it will be the one that will drive you. Not yourself
There is no air force in my country, so I can only dream about becoming an astranaut.(
Don't be silly! Follow your dream, many have made it through the air force but some have found other ways. Science is an excellent field and many astronauts have found their career there. I'll always try to become an astronaut, and if I don't succeed, then I'll end up in my favourite field. SCIENCE!
This has been my dream for as long as I can remember, but I'm afraid it is impossible for me due to my colorblindness :(
Bro don't give up dont be scared Nasa can fix it with a surgery you just need to be fit, strong and work hard for it. If you tell them your story to nasa about this has been my dream... They will accept you ; )
I am highschool I will do it and become astronunt
+Melan Mohd Same. I'm gonna try as hard as possible but unfortunately, my grades aren't too good right now.
+The Tech Bear you will get there just give all you have i hope that ill meet you cuz am also studying to be an astronaut :)
Rayan Moncif Now that I've found out that it's a .6% of becoming one I decided that it might not be worth taking that route. Also, I have other interests like electrical mechanical engineering. Who knows, I might want to become a military surgeon. Good luck to you.
+The Tech Bear there is one thing that most people woudn't do and that is to take risks in life, take a chance no one knows what you can do no one knows what you can become. so if you want to become an astronaut take a chance :) just don't give up allways keep looking at your dream and say every day i can do this i can make this happen so pleas don't give up ;)
+Rayan Moncif Watch the video at 1.55 don't be realistic
I want to be an astronaut but not join the Air Force
I don't have 20/20 vision, so no flying for me ;(
NASA recently approved surgery to fix vision
+Hitnam Films Like it was previously mentioned you do need 20/20 vision. On NASA's website they stated that corrected vision is acceptable so long as it is 20/20. So if you get lasik and it adds up to 20/20 you're good to go. If you have glasses and it adds up to 20/20 you're good to go as well.
Let's not forget you must meet the educational requirements and work experience. It can be quite competitive. Best of luck! :)
+Hitnam actually, you can qualify as a pilot with up to 20/70 vision correctable to 20/20
